Mechanic's Tip

When installing a new CVT belt, inspect the variator, drive face, clutch, and rear pulley for excessive wear or damage. Clean the pulley contact surfaces and remove old belt dust and rubber residue before installation.

A worn or contaminated pulley surface can cause belt slippage, excess heat, poor acceleration, and premature belt wear.
